A Word From Your Incoming Program Quality Director

My vision as the District 22 Program Quality Director is to bring excitement back to Toastmasters. To transition from a club mentality to a family one. The way that I plan to do that is working with the District leadership team (internally and externally) on providing quality, realistic, energetic training, establishing meaningful incentives, and recognizing our leaders and members that are excelling and here to help us grow, and being available physically, mentally and emotionally for our members. The reason that I have taken on this leadership role is for our members. I am not here for personal gains.

To be effective leaders, we have to have effective communication. I applaud our clubs and District leadership team for taking on their new roles. My challenge to you is to take this opportunity to visit, establish strong executive committees, and really get to know our club members. In order to help our members grow, we have to be educated on our roles, available to assist in a positive manner, and share ideas. When I attend training events from Junction City, my first thought is ‘what new ideas can I bring to the table’ and to fellowship with the leadership team. Not complaining because I drove two hours.

Toastmasters has been the 2nd best organization that I’ve joined as a volunteer; the military being the first. To be the Tip of The Spear, we have to be the example for others to follow. Share the information that you receive back down to our members, mentor a member over the next year, and effectively communicate at your monthly executive committee meetings. I’m looking forward to an exciting Toastmasters year. Strive to always do your best. That is all that we ask. Not for me, but for your members and for the person to your left and to your right.
