What is Speechcraft?
Speechcraft is a digital program for those new to Toastmasters. When deciding to start a program you need to think about what your goals are
1) Club Growth
2) Community Outreach
3) Workplace training
The facilitators can decide between a 4-8-week session. These will usually run for 1-2 hours each.
A facilitator can get credit toward their DTM for running a successful speechcraft. This will be one facilitator credit for each 5 participants.
The participants will get credits toward the Pathways program depending on the number of speech projects they complete. These credits will transfer to their club if they choose to join Toastmasters. The digital program is run in the same Learning Management system that we use for Pathways.
What topics are covered in Speechcraft?
Choosing a Topic
Preparing to Present
Giving and Receiving Feedback
Know Your Purpose
Body Language
How to Evaluate
Vocal Variety
Powerful Words
The digital program currently costs $50 for 5 participants. Your club can charge a nominal amount to cover materials.
Sometimes a smaller group can get people more comfortable with a new program. It will encourage them to consider Toastmasters long term if they are provided a positive experience.
