A Word from the Outgoing District Director

It has been an honor to serve as your District Director for the 2020-21 year. The trio’s vision this year was restoring growth and excellence in a supportive environment. Our district leaders kept that vision in mind throughout the year as we supported open houses, online training/events, and expanding our marketing presence on radio, Facebook and LinkedIn.

I want to thank all the members who stepped up this year to provide our clubs with the support they needed to remain viable. Although several of our clubs have been successful in gaining new members, for most of our clubs it has been a tough year in that area. 24 clubs have met the minimum number of Distinguished Club Program goals, but they are still missing the membership numbers to be eligible for distinguished or better status. I applaud you all for continuing to meet, attend district-sponsored events and work towards club/member goals.

As we approach the end of the 2020-21 TM year and the beginning of the 2021-22 TM year, it is important that we continue to work together to ensure all Toastmasters find value through well-planned events, productive meetings, and effective communication. Quality member experience is of utmost importance to Toastmaster retention and success. I am confident that our new leadership team will guide us forward to make our clubs and district strong again as we rebound from the challenges we have faced due to COVID-19.  Thank you for the honor of serving as your District Director for 2020-21.

Joanne Monroe, DTM, Outgoing 2020-21 District 22, District Director
